This opens the way for a new managerial role, an expert in social activism, a true profession for the future: this is evidenced by the enthusiastic support, as course partners, of authoritative groups such as Studio LAND, H2O Milano, Telefono Amico Italia, Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group, Grenze Arsenali Fotografici, Fondazione ISMU, Worldrise onlus, Greencity Italia, Libera - Association names and numbers against Mafia groups.
These professionals will be involved in the strategic dynamics of a delicate and evolving sector capable of developing integrated communication campaigns, both online and offline, trained to disseminate environmental, social, economic and cultural sustainability with due and appropriate content, thus responding to a constantly growing labour market demand. Managing the processes of public utility communication allows, in fact, to open up collaborations in agencies, in the communication department of companies, non-profit organisations such as Voluntary Organisations and Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) or foundations.
In order to learn how to make strategy and creativity, writing and image, and relations with institutions and the media all work together, participants will experience a course with no fewer than nine face-to-face lectures and five workshops, for a total of 344 teaching hours (60 ECTS), with the opportunity to carry out 250 hours of internship at one of the partner institutions. Added to this are testimonies, case studies and live experiences at companies, fairs and themed events.
“The interests of consumers are changing and the dynamics of communication must also adapt to the new needs of a market increasingly attentive to environmental and social sustainability, the circular economy and ethical commitment on behalf of the well-being of the community” says the Executive Director of the course, Prof. Paolo Schianchi. “This first level University Diploma has been designed to respond to such a demand from the labour market. The idea is to train professionals capable of managing the future frontiers of any form of dissemination. The new figure of the Social Communication Manager is therefore ready to enter companies, foundations and the third sector to promote corporate social activism.”
“In my long experience in voluntary association" adds Prof. Mariagrazia Villa, Deputy Director of the University Diploma, “I have learned that goodwill is not enough to communicate their activities and involve the community in their vision and mission. There is a need to acquire and develop specific skills of a technical and managerial nature, that will allow the good to be disseminated in a more professional and, therefore, effective manner. In short: soft skills are good, but we also need the hard skills that our university diploma aims to have participants acquire and develop.”
