Baimbridge, Guadeloupe – June 2023 –Salesian Emmanuel Petit was ordained deacon on 9 June at the church of St Luke in Baimbridge, Guadeloupe. Archbishop David Thomas Daniel Macaire, Archbishop of Fort-de-France (and Saint Pierre), Martinique, was the celebrant, also concelebrated by Fr Daniel Federspiel, Superior of the Salesian Province of France and Southern Belgium (FRB), in the presence of many parishioners. Emmanuel Petit joined the Salesians after starting a career working at a bank in Hong Kong. But the idea of dedicating his life to God and helping young people soon took root in him. Currently, Petit is an educator at the Lakou Bosco association in Guadeloupe.
