In his delivery note, Dixon said, “As a personal testimony, I am what I am today because of how the Lord used SIGA to transform my life and character. Stemming from a poverty-stricken family and an academic failure, SIGA was my heaven on earth, where I was taught the importance of character and education.”
The Certificate of Recognition was presented to Father P T Joseph SDB, the Principal of SIGA Polytechnic College, in the presence of Father Dominic Matthews SDB, the Rector, during the three-day workshop on the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and Self-Assessment Report Preparation by NITTTR (National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research) Chennai.
The three-day workshop led by Dr Jakulin Divya Mary, Assistant Professor, CRED, and Dr K.S. Giridharan, Course coordinator, NITTTRC, was attended by Principals, Vice-Principals, HODs and senior Lecturers of various departments at Don Bosco Polytechnic Colleges in Chennai and Tiruchy Provinces. The workshop focused on Outcome-Based Education which aims to create a clear expectation of results that students must achieve. The outcome includes skills, knowledge and attitude. Effective learning outcomes are student-centred, measurable, concise, meaningful, achievable and outcome-based rather than task-based. The educators assess the students on an ongoing basis and encourage them to reflect on their progress.
