Chile - Technical Industrial Institute "Don Bosco Calama" inaugurates a new infrastructure
Calama, Chile - May 2023 - The Technical Industrial Institute "Don Bosco Calama" inaugurated the fifth phase of its infrastructure. It consists of the fitting out and handover of the second and third floors of the administrative building, which has an area of 900 m² divided over three floors. Institutional, business, and political authorities were present, such as the Councilor for the America Southern Cone Region of the Salesian Congregation, Fr. Gabriel Romero, the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Antofagasta Region, Bishop Ignacio Ducasse, the legal representative of the "Don Bosco Calama" Institute, Fr. Héctor Vásquez, the Headmaster, Johnny Ascencio, and the Director of the "Don Bosco Antofagasta" School, Fr. Juan Bustamante, among others. There were 20 companies from the region that pledged to support the project. The delivery of this work covers the administrative area, concerning the area of technical-pedagogical coordination, academic coordination, psychosocial duo, PIE team, general student center, new teachers' room, environmental coordination, and curricular area, concentrating on the second floor all the operational area related to the education area of the facility. The third floor will house the CRA and library, as well as a state-of-the-art laboratory with 45 modern computers intended to be used for simulators or advanced mechanical and electrical programs for high-resolution graphics. Added to this will be a photocopy room and four private study spaces. The Administration and Finance coordinator of "Don Bosco Calama," Fernando Videla, referred to the modern system of motor pumps for drinking water thanks to two storage tanks, elevators, and electricity generators, pointing out that they were built in compliance with current regulations.
