Ukraine - Visit to Ukrainian medical institutions that received incubators made by various Salesian VTCs from Spain
Ukraine - April 2023 - From April 3 to 8, leaders of the "Women's Movement" Association accompanied representatives of "Wings of Ukraine," the "Clúster SOS Ukraine," and Pablo Sánchez, president of the NGO "Medicina Abierta al Mundo," on a field visit to medical institutions in countries that received neonatal incubators this year. Since the start of the "Incubators That Save Lives" project, 166 have been built around the world. 30 of them have been destined for Ukraine. The incubators were built and tested by students and teachers from various Salesian Vocational Training Centers in Spain on a project of the NGO "Medicina Abierta al Mundo." The purpose of the delegation's trip, in addition to testing the functionality of the incubators already delivered, was to learn about the needs of medical institutions and provide more help in the care of newborns. In six days, the delegation visited more than 10 medical facilities in different regions of Ukraine. In the future, Pablo Sánchez will keep in touch with the Ukrainian medical institutions where the incubators are installed and provide free advice on their maintenance and repair. The "Cunas que salvan vidas" project took its first steps in 2020 at the Salesian Vocational Training Center (CFP) in Pamplona, and has since been expanded to include the participation of other Spanish CFPs.
