The Salesians, and with them many lay people who share the responsibility of animating Don Bosco's mission today, continue to believe that Vocational Training is one of the most precious places in the Salesian mission. It is a proposal that reaches many young people who would otherwise struggle in their formative journey. Through Vocational Training, the Salesians teach many trades, and among them, the one that is most dear to their hearts is the "trade of living."
There are currently about 3,000 young people attending Salesian Vocational Training Centers in the Triveneto.
Fr. Igino Biffi, INE Provincial, reports, "We are in front of a beautiful and precious story that we wish to carry on in an increasingly decisive way and in step with the times. The reform of the Third Sector asks us to reconfigure our governance and the way we organize ourselves. Concretely with today, we have moved from seven associations and a federation to a single entity: a Foundation."
This operation is the result of much work, which began months ago and involved many people: "I thank those who have worked for the success of this operation, bringing their skills into play with great educational passion," says Fr. Biffi, who then adds, "Precisely because the operation is considerable, it will take some patience to bring this 'machine' up to speed. We are starting a new establishment and it is by building that we discover in detail all the issues to be addressed. The issues that will certainly emerge will require patiently synchronizing steps that now do not always have the same rhythm."
