Toruń, Poland - March 2023 - From March 17-18, the Salesian Formation Symposium for teachers and educators of schools, institutions, and educational centers of the Salesian Province of Piła (PLN) was held. The symposium was not only to enhance the skills of the participants, but also to deepen solidarity in a community of the Salesian Family. Among those present were representatives of schools and institutions from Rumia, Bydgoszcz, Debno, Kniewo, Toruń, Rzepczyn, Piła, Aleksandrów Kujawski, Trzciniec, and Szczecin. Speakers during the symposium included PLN Provincial Fr. Tadeusz Itrych, Fr. Tomasz Kościelny, Fr. Julian Dzierżak, Aleksandra Krupowicz, and Fr. Marek Chmielewski, among others. Issues related to the legal aspects of modern education were discussed and a theological reflection based on the Rector Major's Strenna 2023 was held. On the first day, the aspect of Salesian education identity with new challenges was presented. In addition, the topic of innovative pedagogical experiments was addressed, encouraging teachers and principals not to be afraid of innovation, but to resort to modern methods. Then the challenges, opportunities and perils of the Internet and the guidelines to be followed to limit its negative effects among young people were presented.
