United States - Celebrating life and legacy of Don Bosco by helping poor and needy

16 February 2023

Los Angeles, United States - January 2023 - The Salesian Volunteer Program of the Western United States Province recently celebrated the life and legacy of St. John Bosco with several significant events, including delivering food to the poor and needy. Specifically, in January, a group of young volunteers gathered to prepare and deliver food parcels to the homeless community in the Skid Row neighborhood of Los Angeles. As a result, the volunteers spent more than two hours last Jan. 28 preparing about 400 sandwiches and assembling packages with cereal bars, sandwiches, and water bottles. Despite the difficult weather conditions, the volunteers were able to quickly distribute the packages to the homeless, who were grateful for the unexpected meal. This act of kindness and compassion was a testimony to the spirit of St. John Bosco, who dedicated his life to helping the marginalized and vulnerable.
