Italy - Fr. Stefano Martoglio opens 100th anniversary celebration of Salesian house in Turin Crocetta
Turin, Italy - January 2023 - This year the Salesian house in Turin Crocetta is celebrating an important anniversary: one hundred years since its foundation, under Fr. Filippo Rinaldi, who opened the Theological Studentate and a small oratory there on Sept. 8, 1923. The celebrations began on Sunday, January 29, close to the feast of Don Bosco, with Mass presided over by Fr. Stefano Martoglio, Vicar of the Rector Major and a former student of the Studentate. Fr. Martoglio invited us to celebrate this centenary not for dreams of glory, but with the gratitude of those who know they owe everything to God; and not to boast illustrious alumni, but to rejoice in all those who, trained here, live their daily apostolate, often hidden. The thanks to God, the Good Shepherd who cares for the poor and the little ones, was extended to the local realities that live this house: the youth of the oratory, the Scout group "TO24," the Crocetta Basketball team, the faithful of the "Mary Help of Christians" Church, and the many benefactors who in many ways support Don Bosco's dream in the Crocetta neighborhood.
