Ecuador - Renewal of religious professions of eleven Salesian post-novices and one Salesian trainee
Quito, Ecuador - January 2023 - Fr Francisco Sánchez, Superior of the "Sacred Heart of Jesus" Salesian Province of Ecuador (ECU), presided over the celebration on 8 January in the "Christ King" parish of La Tola, during which 11 young Salesian post-novices and a Salesian trainee renewed their religious profession. Present at the celebration were Fr Marcelo Farfán, Director of the post-novitiate, Salesians from various communities in Quito, as well as relatives and friends of the young people, and some Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. Via Facebook, the relatives of the young post-novices from Peru and Bolivia who are carrying out their formation in the international community of the "St. Francis of Assisi" post-novitiate participated. In his homily, Fr Sánchez addressed the young Salesians to motivate them to renew, every day, the desire to live the vocation received and renew the baptismal commitment which implies recognizing, taking on, welcoming the spirit of God in life. “And how do we do it? It is the Lord himself who gives us the strength of His spirit to put us at the service of humanity, making a difference and enriching others through the Salesian vocation, at the service of young people". Furthermore, he highlighted that today's adolescents and young people need other Don Boscos.
