Shillong, India-January 2023 - On the first day of 2023, the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God, Salesian Aiborlang Nongsiej was ordained a priest through the laying on of hands and consecratory prayer of Msgr. Victor Lyngdoh, Archbishop of Shillong, at Mary Mother of God Parish in Mawkyrwat. The ceremony was concelebrated by Fr. Paul Olphindro Lyngkot, Superior of Shillong Province (INS), the Provincial Economer, and 24 other Salesians. On the same day, Deacon Lamkupar Shandiar from Nongstoin Diocese also received priestly ordination. The ceremony was attended by more than 20,000 faithful, confreres and religious, who wanted to witness the solemn rite of ordination.
