Catania, Sicily - November 2022 - On Saturday, November 26, the first online meeting of SDB-Laity Formation was held, a stage in a new formation adventure for Salesians and lay people in Sicily, which was launched in August at the beginning of the pastoral year. It is a path designed for the Councils of Educative Pastoral Communities (CEP) of the ISI Province and the idea was brought forward at the request of the 31st Provincial Chapter. The path includes several online stages and an in-presence conclusion and will be useful to grow in pastoral planning in view of the elaboration or updating of the local PEPS, which will involve all CEPs. Reflexively, this path will help the consolidation of CEP councils. The first stage, experienced as mentioned on Nov. 26, drew inspiration from Pope Francis' "Evangelii Gaudium" and the Global Educational Pact, reread from a Salesian perspective, thanks also to the Salesian Youth Ministry Framework. Fr Franco Di Natale, Provincial Vicar, was the first speaker. Thanks went to the Youth Ministry, Social Communication, and SDB-Laity Project teams. The process of sharing charism and mission continues and will bear much fruit.
