11 November 2022

Macau - November 2022 - It has been 28 months since the start of the restoration work of the "Salesian Institute" in Macau. Despite fears and difficulties related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the groundbreaking ceremony had been held on May 24, 2020, when it was explained to those present that the project would be carried out in two phases. Now the first phase, documented through a short video, is complete, and people look forward to the second part of the reconstruction, which will be completed by 2024. Despite the intense restoration work, school activities were never interrupted and now students are waiting to move into the newly completed areas. The "Salesian Institute" in Macau, entrusted to the Salesians in 1906, is the first Salesian school in the East Asia-Oceania Region and had St. Luigi Versiglia as its first Rector.
