The training proposal was designed through the consolidation of a cooperative alliance with the nonprofit association "Seniors Españoles para la Cooperación Técnica" (SECOT), which offers free courses taught by professionals, members of SECOT, with extensive experience in the business world. Thanks to their experience, the "seniors" advise, train and guide students, seeking to enhance their talents so that they can best access the world of work.
About 50 participants, belonging to Salesian entities from 14 different countries in the Americas, have joined the initiative. The training will be conducted digitally, through synchronous classes, and will consist of 7 courses to be held from September to December 2022. The topics to be developed are: entrepreneurship, Small and Medium Enterprises, business plan writing, e-commerce, marketing and sales, finance...
The first course, titled "How to Improve my Skills in Employment and Entrepreneurship," begins on Monday, September 19.
The alliance for young people between the Salesian realities of America and SECOT was established thanks to the support and joint work of "Misiones Salesianas," the Salesian Mission Office based in Madrid, Spain, and is part of the objectives of the training strategic line drawn up by RASS and the VTCs of the Salesian Works of America for a major contribution to the mission of enhancing the great human talents present in the Salesian Family, particularly among the VTC teachers. The goal is for all participants to benefit from this learning experience on entrepreneurship and business, and to replicate it in each of their formation centers.
"In this way, we join forces to continue networking and help create job opportunities for our America's youth," says RASS.
