D.R. Congo - Youths from Salesian works in Goma on stage for multidisciplinary art exhibition on resilience
Goma, D.R. Congo - July 2022 - A group of 53 girls and boys from the Salesian works in Goma performed in front of an audience of about 300 people to raise awareness through various artistic genres about the importance of resilience and everyday life issues such as friendship, violence, discrimination, environmental disasters, and taboos. The event was held as part of the project "Equal social and educational opportunities for youth and women in the city of Goma for building a more just and responsible society in the North Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of Congo." The project is funded by the Italian Bishops' Conference and implemented by the Salesian NGO VIS (Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo) in collaboration with the "Don Bosco Ngangi" Youth Center. VIS mission manager in the country, Ms. Monica Corna, thanked the Salesians of Don Bosco in Goma for their special accompaniment of young people in this project. She congratulated all the youth, their supervisors, and other project partners. The audience appreciated the various performances and especially the quality of the messages artistically conveyed by these young students.
