Madrid, Spain - February 2022 - Last week a beautiful event cheered up the Salesian Mission Office of Madrid: Rafael Garrido and María Jesús Martín received the missionary cross and will be sent to do a Salesian mission volunteer experience in the Dominican Republic, starting next March 15. María Jesús will help the team of educators at the "Doña Chucha" house for two months, while Rafael, for one year, will be placed in the Planning Office of the "Fundación Don Bosco" in Santo Domingo. Both participated in the training and preparation process, showing the spirit of solidarity typical of the Salesian charism. The missionary cross was handed over to them by Fr Pavel Ženisek, a Salesian member of the Missions Sector, and the sending-off ceremony was a festive moment to remember the importance of having one's heart and arms open to meeting others.
