The Training program consisted of sessions offered by a team of resource persons including Fr Stephen Biswakarma, SDB, the Principal of the Higher Secondary Section of Nepal Don Bosco School at Sidhipur-Lubhu, who shared their life experiences in the proper care of school students. The 31 participants of the ten schools came prepared to attend the sessions with a lot of eagerness as the education sector of Nepal is revamping its policies and strategies to cater to the holistic formation of students. The topics that thrilled the participants were “Child-Friendly Teaching”, “The Best Practices of the Schools”, “The Personality of the Teacher”, “The Media impact on students’ life”, and “Back to Nature”. The participants, as well as the school authorities, were appreciative of the ongoing effort by NDBS to support the schools with such programs.
Thought-provoking messages were shared by Mr. Hemanta Budathoki, the Chief Guest and the education officer of the Manthali municipality, and other guests, and the frequent interaction by the organizing team, headed by Fr Augusty Pulickal, SDB, the NDBS director, were all much-appreciated by participants.
The 20 Salesians working at 9 different centres of the country’s Eastern, Central, and Far Western regions are rendering a valuable service to the rebuilding attempt of the country. A host of relief and recovery programs were undertaken in the immediate post-earthquake days along with the congregation’s engagement to provide quality and value-based academic and technical education in the country.
