The verses of the song take up, in order, various characteristics of the profile of Saint Francis de Sales:
- the primacy of love for God (title of the Strenna);
- the sense of trusting abandonment to Providence;
- the meekness that gives peace, modeled on the Lord's charity;
- The courageous zeal of the apostle.
The refrain contains the title of the passage, also taken from a well-known phrase of the Saint, and connected to a thought of St. Paul on Charity (Gal 5:18: … if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law). The text was produced and recorded by Sound Sistemi Recording, Studio of G. Paolo Guercio (Santhià).
Several choirs were involved in the song’s creation, including the Choir of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, a representative of the SYM choir of the Special Circumscription of Italy, Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta, the "Sal.es" choir, and the FMA postulants.
Also important was the participation of the soloists, Concetta Battiato, Francesca Rosa, Bro. Mariano Licciardi, SDB, and Bro. Gregor Markelc, SDB, and of the instrumentalists Alessio Boschiazzo (Drums) and Gianluca Rosa (Guitar).
The vocal preparation and direction of the choristers is instead due to Professor Rosy Zavaglia and to Fr Maurizio Palazzo himself.
Fr Palazzo, in presenting this original song, wished to express: "A special thanks to the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, to the Director of ANS, Fr Harris Pakkam, and to the rector of the 'Mary Help of Christians' community of Valdocco, Fr Alejandro Guevara, for the attention and promotion of the initiative."
The video, in Italian, is available on ANSChannel and will subsequently be published also in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
