RMG – "Growing in Salesian identity". Next Saturday, 11 December, the Rector Major explains the first programmatic line of 6-year term

08 December 2021

(ANS - Rome) - Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, will be the protagonist of the second meeting of the cycle "Which Salesians for today's young people?", organized by the "Centro Studi Opera Tabernacoli Viventi", in collaboration with the Conference of the Salesian Provinces of Italy (CISI) - Formation Sector. On Saturday, 11 December, from 10:30 to 11:45 (UTC + 1), the 10th Successor of Don Bosco shall discuss the first programmatic line of the six-year term: "Growing in the Salesian identity" and his interventions will be visible to all live on the Facebook page of “Don Bosco Italia”.

In the interview, which will be conducted by Fr Silvio Roggia, of the Formation Sector, Fr Á.F. Artime will answer questions on why it is fundamental for a Salesian to always return to Jesus, how to do so, what it means to be in love with Him and to learn to live, moment by moment, one's day with the Lord.

The union with God was the driving force of St. John Bosco and will continue to be so also for all those who, called by God, want to follow him in evangelizing and in educating the young. Furthermore: how is it possible today to live the dual movement of listening to the breath of the Spirit and at the same time being "experts in humanity", to the point of being moved by the pain and needs of young people? Why does our Galilee pass through Valdocco? In what way? And again: the latest causes of beatification are all of mystics; what does this significant fact tell us Salesians? And finally, the evils: autonomy, self-management, independence, the management of oneself and of economic resources, power are all possible forms of illness in Salesian life; what medicines does the Rector Major recommend?

These are the questions that will be asked live; but also from home, in the last part of the interview, the Rector Major can be asked other questions so that "every Salesian can become what he is called to be".

All that remains is to stay tuned to the “Don Bosco Italia” Facebook page.
