The center welcomes teenagers between 13 and 17 who live on the street. It offers a peaceful, patient, attentive and generous environment, and creates a family atmosphere, where children can feel free from the dangers of the street and where they are encouraged and accompanied to carry out a process of personal improvement. The center offers these young people an integral intervention, which embraces the psychological, social and medical areas, promotes the rights, empowerment and maturation of adolescents, motivating and educating them according to Don Bosco's style, so that they become aware of their situation and change life. Educational, spiritual, sports and recreational activities are carried out in the center. And with a capacity to accommodate 40 teenagers, "Techo Pinardi" hosts, educates and supports approximately 150 minors a year.
“Techo Pinardi” encourages young people to build small life projects away from the street. “We give them enough opportunities to try to forge a different path, such as family bonding, the desire to return to a relative in the extended family, an aunt, a grandmother or perhaps even their own parents, and when it is not possible to accompany them to a positive reintegration, we find them a suitable center,” added Trevisanato.
In fact, one of the policies that this shelter has put in place is that when young people are over 17 and it is no longer possible for them to enter the center, the accompaniment service is not interrupted, but everything is done so that they can seek their autonomy, find work.
