Spain - The ancient facade of the Carabanchel house
Featured
Madrid, Spain - 1952 - This photograph shows the old facade of the Salesian presence in Carabanchel, Madrid. This is the main entrance, which was accessed from the Plaza de la Emperatriz. The presence of the Salesians in Carabanchel was a decision of the Salesian Ernesto Oberti who, in 1902, had bought a large property from a nobleman, the Count of Reparaz. The latter was used as a House of Formation: a choice also dictated by the tranquility of the place where it stood, away from the confusion and pollution of Madrid.
