India – Collaboration between “Don Bosco College” of Panjim and Goa's Chamber of Commerce & Industry

10 February 2021

(ANS - Panjim) - In order to promote the development of skills and collaboration between schools and industries, Panjim's "Don Bosco College" (DBC) and the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) have signed a memorandum of agreement on 6 February. It aims to implement development programs and promote innovation and entrepreneurship.

Specifically, the memorandum highlights eight potential areas, identified as essential for industry and institution engagement: curriculum design, industry visits, student internships, skills development programs, lectures with specialist guests, development faculty, fostering business incubators (i.e. programs designed to accelerate business development) and, finally, promoting entrepreneurship among students.

The memorandum was signed by Ralph de Sousa, first Vice-president of the GCCI, and by Fr Joaquim Lobo, Director of the “Don Bosco College”. Numerous institutional figures from Goa also took part in the event, such as the General Director of the GCCI, R.S. Kasmat, and the deputy director Pallavi Arondekar. The dean, Dr. Cedric Silviera, and several professors participated for the “Don Bosco College”.

The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the state's premier non-profit organization for business, support services and networking. It represents and liaises between business organizations and government agencies. One of the association's main objectives is in fact to bridge the gap between the field of education and that of industry.

For the “Don Bosco College”, this memorandum represents an important turning point. Thanks to the agreement, in fact, the institute will have access to many resources and take part in important chamber events.
