The meeting began with the participation of about 50 young adults, united in the following of Christ in the Salesian style. Ten years ago, the participants represented the SYM from Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, El Salvador, the United States, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Venezuela. Today, some have changed their country of residence and also connected from Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Spain and Switzerland.
Saturday began with the memories of what they had experienced in 2010, and there was no lack of games and challenges. Then, the words of some Salesians and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians guided a reflection on all the challenges that have been faced in recent years, especially in the reality of Ecuador, on the difficulties of recent years and on the whole path that still has to be traveled. The first day ended with a greeting and a blessing for everyone.
The second day began with a surprise: the digital presence of Fr Miguel Ángel García, current General Councilor for Youth Ministry, who took a few minutes to participate in the meeting and to convey a message of encouragement in the light of the 28th General Chapter of the Congregation, exhorting everyone to continue walking together with the Salesians, each in his current "trench" in which he lives and serves.
In the same way, Fr Hugo Orozco, current Regional Councilor for Interamerica, and Fr Rafael Bejarano from the Youth Ministry Department also sent greetings, who motivated the participants to continue their life in the Salesian charism.
Finally, Fr Domenico Sequeira invited the young adults to be well organized in their inner world in order to achieve what their heart desires to achieve. The end of the meeting was also the highest and most significant moment of the two days with the participation of all in the community Eucharist.
