Nigeria - Salesian community of Iju Ishaga distributes basic necessities
Ifako-Ijaiye, Nigeria - April 2020 - After the first death caused by COVID-19 in Lagos on February 24, and given the growing number of people affected, lockdown has been imposed in many states of Nigeria. The blockade of activities, not accompanied by government aid, has had negative effects on the citizens, as needy families suffer from hunger and looting is a daily occurrence. The Salesian community "Mary Help of Christians" in Iju Ishaga, a suburb of Ifako-Ijaiye, in addition to respecting and promoting preventive measures, distributed basic necessities to needy families. The donation was made possible thanks to the support of "Misiones Salesianas", the Salesian Mission Office in Madrid.
