(ANS – Lille) – The Salesian Le Valdocco Centre in Lille, in the Saint Francis de Sales France-Belgium South Province (FRB), has developed a unique synergy with the L'inter (s) tisse Association and the Opéra de Lille, thanks to which an innovative cultural initiative was launched for pupils aged between 11 and 13. This engaging programme invites young people to explore the fascinating world of music, ballet and theatre through group workshops focused on classic masterpieces such as Stravinsky's "Petruška" or Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker".
(ANS – Tirupattur) – Tirupattur, the Sandal City of Tamil Nadu, is witnessing an extraordinary convergence of youthful energy and purpose as SYMFEST 2024-25 began yesterday, December 29, at the historic Sacred Heart College. Hosted by the Salesian Province of Chennai, this landmark event celebrates the 200th anniversary of Don Bosco’s Dream at Nine. It brings together over 1,500 young participants from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh under the theme “Anchored in Hope: Young People as Agents of Change.”
(ANS – Rome) – The ancient and traditional yet always significant delivery of the Salesian Strenna for the New Year was repeated on Friday, 27 December 2024, at the General House of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) in Rome. In the presence of the Mother General of the FMA, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, her sisters and many Salesians and members of the Salesian Family, Fr Stefano Martoglio, Vicar of the Rector Major, currently at the head of the Salesian Congregation, officially presented the message and the video that illustrate the guiding theme that will accompany the Salesian Family in 2025, the Jubilee Holy Year and the 150th anniversary of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition: "Anchored in hope, pilgrims with young people".
Hat Yai, Thailand – December 2024 – On Friday 20 December the Salesian Saengthong Vitthaya school celebrated Christmas for the entire school community. The day began with a show entitled "Holy Night in Bethlehem", performed by teachers and students of the school, followed by the opening ceremony of the nativity scene built from cardboard and other recycled elements, to follow the instructions of Pope Francis to protect our Common Home. After the ceremony, teachers and students sent their best wishes to all the school's superiors and the Rector, Fr Kriengsak Chaiyaphornkaew, blessed all the staff and students. The young people then performed in dances and shows to celebrate Christmas together.
