(ANS - Addis Ababa) - The impact of the climatic phenomenon "El Niño" is driving thousands of Ethiopian families to leave the countryside and move to the big cities. They are at risk of exploitation and illegal migration to Europe and the Middle East. "The drought emergency in Ethiopia is at its peak, and the human traffickers are ready to take advantage of the crisis." This is the alarm raised by the International Volunteers for Development (VIS) and the Salesians of Ethiopia.

Brussels, Belgium - February 2016 - Don Bosco International (DBI) continues its pledge to implement its strategic plan on behalf of migrants, refugees and the poor and to promote social inclusion and access of young people to work. Among other activities, the DBI participated on 22 February in the Intergroup session on the Rights of the Child in the European Parliament, with the presence of various MEPs involved in a written statement on the investments to be made to combat child poverty.

Colombia - "Bosco in the park"

Bogotá, Colombia - February 2016 - The first experience of "Bosco in the Park” took place on 26 February. It was organized by the Provincial Artistic Service, the Service of the Missions and that of the Youth Ministry Delegation in Bogota. The goal is to share an oratory space in a city public place. The first experience took place in the square near the Salesian work of "Niño Jesús", with performances by various artistic groups.

(ANS - Munich) - At the Third Meeting of the Missionaries in Europe recently held in Munich in Bavaria, there were five missionary priests ordained this year (4 for the Province of France-Southern Belgium and one for Northern Belgium). They had been sent as missionaries to Europe after their post-novitiate and had done their training and theological studies in their new Provinces.
