(ANS - Bogotá) - Fr Saverio (Javier) de Nicolò was a man greatly in love with his missionary adventure. The decision to leave his homeland brought him to Colombia and in October 1949 he landed at Buenaventura. He was 21 years old and spoke only Italian, but he had a determination to live up to his resolution: "the best experience in the world is to serve humanity." He died in Bogota on 22 March 2016.

(ANS - Chofu) – Even today, for a Korean to go on a mission to Japan is still not something to be taken for granted!  "When Europe was suffering from the two World Wars, in Korea our ancestors suffered from 35 years of Japanese colonial rule. Although our two countries are very close geographically, it is not easy to be united" says Fr Andrea Chang, a Salesian from South Korea. Yet for the past few weeks he has been in the Tokyo metropolitan area of Chofu, to help in the ministry of the Japanese Salesian Province.

(ANS – New York) – Salesian Missions co-sponsored an important side-event, entitled “Women Water and Wellbeing: The Human Right to Water and Sanitation”, on World Water Day, March 22.

Mumbai, India – 13 March 2016 - More than 1,200 women from the poorest suburbs of Mumbai participated in the program for International Women's Day, organized by the Don Bosco Development Society.
