To mark the liturgical feast of Alberto Marvelli, a Salesian Past Pupil, the Maltese National Federation of Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco, together with the World Confederation of Past Pupils and the Salesians of Don Bosco Publications – Malta, have published a new book on the biography of the life of Alberto Marvelli in the English language.  The author of the book is Mr. Bryan Magro who is the President of the Maltese National Federation and the Treasurer of the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco.

In the introduction to the book, Fr Angel Fernández Artime - Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco said that: “The life of Alberto Marvelli is characterised with generosity, loving-kindness and prayer.  He lived a life which was exemplified by the Salesian Spirituality.  Alberto Marvelli is a genuine icon of what it means to be a past pupil of Don Bosco.  As a true past pupil of Don Bosco, Alberto Marvelli was the salt of the earth and the light of the earth.”

In the presentation the President of the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco, Mr Michal Hort, wrote: “We hope that this biography will help young people, past pupils and friends of Don Bosco and the members of the Salesian Family to be inspired by the charism of Alberto Marvelli.  His strong Christian principles, his active citizenship and his spirituality are an example to all of us.”

This year, the Past Pupils Movement is celebrating the 150th Anniversary of its foundation when Don Bosco met with Gastini and his friends to mark Don Bosco’s feastday and he asked them to unite together, help each other and support the work with young people.
