(ANS - Santiago) - With 55 animators and assistants from all the country's communities, the National Convention of the Animators of the Domenico Savio Clubs (CDS) took place in the Lo Cañas retreat from 7 to 9 July.
(ANS - Iwaki) - Last Wednesday, July 12, the sixth interreligious prayer meeting was held on the coast of the Fukushima Prelature in Ena Harbor, Iwaki, to commemorate the victims of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in eastern Japan. The meeting, attended by more than 250 people, was coordinated by reverend Eikan Tsutsui, the Buddhist monk of the Yakushiji Temple, while the logistics were borne by the Iwaki Risshokosekai lay Buddhist group. Among the guests: Salesian Fr Mario Yamanouchi, SDB, Superior of the Salesian Province of Japan, together with the Sisters of Charity of Jesus, and the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame, the only religious presence in the city of Fukushima - with a kindergarten, primary and secondary school.
(ANS - Brussels) - The European Parliament, with its headquarters in Brussels, hosts an exhibition with 31 centenary or ultra-centenary magazines from the Portuguese press, of which 8 are members of the Association of Christian Publishers and Press (AIIC, in Portuguese), and are presented as symbols of the country's "cultural variety." "Even the Salesian Bulletin, whose first edition was published in February 1902, is now exhibited at the European Parliament in a very visible way," Salesian Joaquim Antunes, the Salesian Bulletin Director, said with pride.
(ANS – Nashik) – Around 350 Scouts and Guides from various Salesian schools of the Mumbai Province, along with Salesian priests, sisters and brothers from the communities in Nashik, participated in the official launch of the 13th National Boscoree, an all-India gathering of Scouts and Guides from Salesian schools. The event took place on 3 July at Don Bosco High School, Nashik.
