At the heart of the Salesian scholar's paper will be the Salesian response to the ideologies adverse to the Church in Europe during the first half of the 20th century, namely, the neoliberal movements of France and Spain, the right-wing totalitarianisms of Italy, Germany, Austria and the left of Eastern Europe, from the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), in difficult times.
The Salesian paper thus finds its place amidst the scientific seminars, lectures and debates on various themes related to religious experience being discussed in the prestigious buildings of the city of Bologna, home of the oldest university in Europe.
During the five days of work, more than one thousand scholars from all over Europe, the Mediterranean, the Caucasus, Russia and other countries are expected to attend from their respective academies, societies, research centers, university think-tanks, reviews.
At the founding event of the European Academy of Religion, held on December 5, 2016, in Bologna, the three permanent members of the Salesian Historical Institute, the proff. Thomas Anchukandam, Stanislaw Zimniak and Francesco Motto, and Prof. Grazia Loparco, FMA, formerly president of ACSSA, were among the participants, as were illustrious representatives of the European Institutions of Brussels.
The European Academy of Religion is an inclusive scientific platform for exchange and cooperation on the subject of religious cultures and studies between academies, societies, research centers and institutions, university and think-tanks, qualified journals, scientific and media publishers.
