Vatican City - 9 April 2017 - Pope Francis presided in St. Peter's Square over the solemn liturgical celebration of Palm Sunday and the Passion of the Lord. The youth of Krakow (Poland) - the city that hosted World Youth Day (WYD) 2016 - handed over the Cross, the symbol of this event, to the young people of Panama, which will host WYD 2019.
Vatican City, Vatican – Because of its outstanding beauty, the Redemptoris Mater Chapel in the Vatican is regarded as a "modern Sistine". The work of renovation began in 1996, thanks to Pope John Paul II, on the occasion of his 50th anniversary of priesthood. Millions of small fragments of stones, of very different kinds, adorn this magnificent work. The stones are from different places: from mountains where witnesses to the faith of the twentieth century were martyred, from caves with prehistoric paintings, from seaside beaches and river banks.
Freetown, Sierra Leone - 2016 - These are the faces of children left without parents, whom the Salesians look after and educate for life. They are "faces that speak of the future."
