Italy - Rector Major in Messina for 50th anniversary of "San Tommaso d'Aquino" Institute

(ANS - Messina) - On the occasion of the closing of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the foundation, today, 29 November, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, visits the Theological Institute "San Tommaso d'Aquino" of Messina, where he presides the inauguration ceremony of the 2018-19 Academic Year.

After the greetings of the academic authorities - the Principal, Fr Giuseppe Cassaro, and the Director of the School of Specialization in Bioethics and Sexology, Fr. Giovanni Russo - it's up to the Rector Major the task of the academic prolusion, about: "The Synod on the young: a Church with realism and hope."

The program of activities also includes several musical intervals and, in conclusion, the unveiling of a commemorative plaque of the 50 years of the institute.

The entire ceremony begins at 16:30 local time (UTC+1) and is broadcast live on the Facebook page of the Sicilian Province.
