During the meeting, presentations and spaces for reflection on the following key issues are scheduled:
- Youth reality: analysis of the main problems faced by young people at risk in the Americas.
- Networking: strategies to strengthen collaboration between Salesian social works on the continent.
- Charismatic sustainability: reflection on how to maintain the Salesian identity in social works and ensure its continuity in the long term.
- Economic sustainability: how to ensure that resources are found for the optimal development of projects, programmes and social services.
- Research and social development: presentation of studies and methodologies to improve the impact of social works.
- Youth participation: spaces where young people can express their needs, their expectations and their proposals, ensuring their participation in decision-making processes.
- Best Practices: exchange of successful experiences between the various Salesian works, aimed at promoting the replicability of the most effective projects.
The event will end with the formulation of concrete proposals for the future development of Salesian Social Works on the continent, in order to adapt Salesian initiatives to the changed realities of young people that the Salesian Family accompanies.
The event is the first occasion in which the two networks in America meet in a single meeting to reflect on the reality of youth, on the Salesian response and on the charismatic and economic sustainability of our mission. In this space, the 25th anniversary of the American Salesian Social Network (RASS) will also be commemorated and the strengthening of common work with the Salesian Network of Brazil (RSB) will be planned.
