Coming from Rome, Fr Lozano immersed himself first in the 65 years of history of the John XXIII Higher Institute, recognising its rich legacy, and then in the development of the Salesian University, which celebrates its first ten years of life and consolidated growth.
During his visit, Fr Lozano highlighted the valuable experience of complementarity between the two institutions which, since 2019, have formed a single "Salesian House" and work together to offer innovative educational practices faithful to the Salesian charism.
Fr Lozano also met the authorities of the Salesian House of Higher Education, including the Rector of the House and the Rectors, Adrián Mandará and Fr Guillermo Tanos, as well as some members of the management and animation team of both institutions. The visit stressed the importance of the IUS global network, which brings together more than 94 institutions in 22 countries, engaged in an educational project inspired by the evangelical values and Salesian pedagogy of Don Bosco.
The IUS, as academic communities, maintain a clear educative and pastoral mission at the service of young people, especially those from the most vulnerable sectors, reaffirming their Christian identity and their vocation to social transformation.
