During their training in Malta, a group of twenty European Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco have been trained by experts on how to use digital platform to help young people to improve their presence on social media platforms. They also learnt on how to use tools and resources that will help young people to build their own profile which will help them access jobs in which they aspire to work.
During the training, the five different countries developed their own training programmes which will be delivered in five different languages. In the next phase of the project, the partners from Malta, Italy, Slovakia, Spain, and Hungary will be delivering the training programmes that they created in different Salesian Schools, Parishes, and Oratories. They will evaluate these training programmes before finalising them. The five European countries will meet again in Hungary in the end of summer to finalise the training programmes. The launch of these programmes is planned for October which will take place in the five countries by the National Federations of Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco.
The President of the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco, Mr Bryan Magro who is coordinating the project stated “These four days, we worked together to reach out to unemployed young people and give them the opportunity to cross the digital divide. For the past pupils and friends of Don Bosco, it is important that we help young people to enter the world of employment. This is how we give expression to our mission and charism by showing solidarity with vulnerable young people in the same way that Don Bosco asked from Carlo Gastini as the first leader of our organisation.”
