The first house he visited was "Don Bosco Cairo - Zeitun." There, from January 28 to 30, he met with the Egyptian and Sudanese youth who attend the oratory and had several formative meetings with the animators, educators, and catechists. Because of the feast of St. John Bosco, they presented various theatrical acts, which Fr. García Morcuende was happy to attend. The work council also had time to engage with the YM General Counselor in a dialogue on the Salesian mission.
Also in Cairo, on the feast day of Don Bosco, Fr. García Morcuende visited the students of the "Don Bosco - El Sahel" vocational-technical school. Here he met with the teaching staff, discussed educational issues and challenges with them, and presided over the solemn Don Bosco Mass among the students of the institute. In the afternoon, he was welcomed by the young people of the oratory and watched the theatrical scenes they prepared in honor of Don Bosco.
After finishing his visit to the work on the morning of Feb. 1, the YM General Councilor went to Alexandria, where, in the afternoon, he led a digital animation and formation meeting with all the Salesians of the province. Everyone was moved to hear how Don Bosco was celebrated by Salesians and youth in the various MOR countries.
On Thursday morning, Feb. 2, the General Councilor's visit continued with the students of the vocational school, a gathering opened by a very friendly and conversational Salesian "good morning" thought. In the afternoon, there was still time for another formative meeting, this time with the teachers of the vocational school and the kindergarten, elementary, and middle schools, and dedicated to joint reflection on the theme of the identity of the Salesian school and its mission based on Don Bosco's Educational System, the Preventive System.
In this animation visit, during his meetings with the Salesian communities, Fr. García Morcuende always manifested the deep support and great closeness of the Congregation and the Sector for Youth Ministry to them.
