The study showed that the province of La Vega is characterized by its high impact on national agro-pastoral production and the presence of mountain tourism, farms and industries operating under a free-zone regime, as well as for its culture expressed every year in the local carnival, of national and international significance.
This study was presented during an event held in the auditorium of the Salesian Agronomic and Technical Institute (IATESA) in the city of La Vega, where the results were presented to bodies such as the Directorate of Vocational Technical Education (DETP) and Regional 06 of the Ministry of Education and its Educational Districts, entrepreneurs of the province, students, and representatives of the National Institute of Professional Technical Training (INFOTEP) of La Vega.
The study revealed the need to restructure the vocational training offer that has been implemented so far in this province, expressed on the occasion by Anina del Castillo, Director of the consultancy company "CCMG Mejoramiento y Gestión", responsible for the implementation and presentation of the study. At the same time, Dr. del Castillo indicated that the results of this study will be an important impetus for the strengthening of Technical-Professional Training, as spaces for dialogue between the key actors of the production process and the animators of the economy of the Province in its main municipalities.
This study constitutes an important contribution of the Salesians to the improvement of educational processes in the Province, and at the same time will favor the opening of new opportunities for young people in the labor market, entrepreneurship and the development of that area.
