At the meeting, each Province is invited to present the functioning of its Formation sector, as well as its own statistical data. On the side of formation houses, then, the regional delegates were given the task of studying them in the style of the "curatorium", where each of the parties involved assumes responsibility for the whole, with a view to co-responsibility for formation.
As regards the Salesian formator, a complete profile of the human conditions necessary for the good performance of this important role in religious life was drawn up:
The team of formators must be made up of people who:
- are aware of being mediators of God's action;
- strive to live their particular service according to the style of the Preventive System;
- communicate with vitality their love and enthusiasm for Don Bosco and the Salesian vocation;
- are men of prayer and spiritual wisdom, capable of guiding along the ways of the Lord, both with the word and with the consistent testimony of their consecrated life;
- pay positive and critical attention to cultural and social problems, for an adequate contextualization of the formation processes.
Once the study of each topic is completed, a concrete proposal shall be formulated to be implemented in the Salesian houses of formation.
