Uganda - Easter in Palabek
Palabek, Uganda - April 2019 - Nearly 2,000 Catholics of Uganda and South Sudan from various tribes living in the Palabek refugee camp gathered on Holy Saturday afternoon in the "Don Bosco Technical School". Bringing kitchen utensils, sleeping blankets and drums with them, they transformed classrooms into dormitories and the experiences of Holy Week were shared with great joy along the corridors. During the Mass of the Easter Vigil, over 200 catechumens received the Sacraments of the Initiation, and in the morning they accepted the challenge of being "Apostles of the Life of the Gospel". Then on Sunday, during Mass of Resurrection, over 150 children received their first Communion and three marriages were celebrated.
