Madang, Papua New Guinea - 2 March 2019 - At the end of the annual meeting of the Federation of Religious (FOR) of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, Fr Alfred Maravilla, SDB, Superior of the Vice Province of Papua New Guinea (PGS ), was elected President for two years. FOR is composed of Major Superiors of male and female religious congregations and societies of apostolic life in both countries. Its purpose is to promote their well-being by respecting the autonomy and charism of each institute, to bear common witness and to invigorate, encourage and inspire enthusiasm among the members of their evangelical witness, to support structures of collaboration and coordination with the bishops.
