Philippines - Salesian Lay Volunteers assist 59 elderly people
Cebu, Philippines - October 24, 2018 - The members of the Salesian Lay Volunteer group called "SALVO" celebrated the month of the missions and honored the day of Mary Help of Christians with an initiative that saw them assist 59 elders at a house of the Missionaries of Charity in Mabolo, near Cebu City. The Salesian Lay Volunteer Team also met two Salesians - Fr Felice Furlan and Fr Leonard Mcmanus, missionaries in the Philippines for 56 years and 45 years respectively - from whom they heard words of wisdom about volunteering and being on a mission.
