Ecuador - Salesian Project Foundation - North Zone: 40 years at service of children and adolescents in social risk situation
Quito, Ecuador - December 2017 - On 8 December 1977, the “home” for young street workers was established by a group of young Salesians with the support of the community of the post-novitiate "El Giron" of Quito. Over the years, this service, called the Salesian Project Foundation - Northern Zone, has been strengthened, and has supported 2,581 young people and 1,790 families in situations of social risk. To commemorate the 40 years of activity, a session of the National Assembly was held on December 8 with the participation of the Provincial of Ecuador, Fr Francisco Sánchez; the Director of the Salesian Project Foundation - Northern Zone, Fr José Ruiz; a number of Salesians involved in the project, and young people representatives.
