Tlazala, Mexico - November 2023 - Camp Juanitos 2023 was held on the theme 'We are bearers of a dream' on 18 and 19 November at the Salesian La Case del Hombre Nuevo retreat centre. The event was organised by Fr Hugo Herrera Rosales, Delegate for Youth Ministry in the Salesian Province of Mexico-City (MEM), and his team. More than two hundred children, aged 9 to 11, accompanied by 38 educators from 12 Salesian works in the MEM Province, as well as an FMA work with 70 participants, took part. Francisco Javier Cabrera, a member of the Youth Ministry Team, explained the motto of the meeting inspired by Don Boscos "Dream at Nine Years of Age" and emphasised that the aim of this experience was to energise the children's groups. 35 Salesian leaders led the provincial workshop, which in this experience also involves a process of continuous formation for participants. The camp activities, theatrical, creative, as well as prayer, meetings, games and sports were led by leaders from the Salesian Youth Movement in the MEM Province. Also present at Camp Juanitos 2023 was Fr Ignacio Ocampo Uribe, Superior of the MEM Province, who presided over the event's concluding Eucharist.
