Lebanon - Traditional meeting for Rector Major's Strenna
Al Fidar, Lebanon - January 2023 - For many years, in January, a meeting of the Salesian Family has been held in Lebanon, enlarged to collaborators, animators, friends, and sympathizers of Don Bosco, to present the Rector Major's Strenna, as a commitment to be made, each in his own sphere. This year's meeting was held at the Salesian house in Al Fidar, Sunday, Jan. 15, and was attended by about 200 people: the Salesian community, some Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, a large group of Salesian Cooperators, teachers, animators of the Salesian oratory and that of the FMA. As well as dozens of other lay people, adults and youth, Lebanese, Syrians, and Iraqis, all revolving, as actors or recipients, around the activities of the Salesian Family in Lebanon. The theme of Strenna 2023 by Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime "AS THE YEAST IN TODAY'S HUMAN FAMILY. The Lay Dimension in the Family of Don Bosco," particularly stimulated the participation of the laity. In fact, in addition to Fr. Simon Zakerian, director of the Salesian community, as the keynote speaker, the Provincial Coordinator of the Salesian Cooperators of the Middle East also took the floor to illustrate the current relevance of Strenna 2023.
