Philippines - "VocTok" experience to guide young people to become "salt of the earth and light of the world"
Makati, Philippines - September 2022 - The Northern Philippines Province (FIN) is relaunching the "VocTok" program, an online space that was created with the aim of helping young people become "salt of the earth and light of the world." "VocTok" is an initiative made by the youth for the youth, which is carried out under the leadership of Fr. Jayson B. David, Provincial Delegate for Vocational Ministry. The organizers interact with the public in a youth-friendly style, favoring dialogues, graphics, and personal sharing, which clearly explains the thousands of views "VocTok" reaches each day. Online programs, moreover, are intertwined with offline ones, such as the recent basketball tournament organized to celebrate the second anniversary of "VocTok." The program, in fact, had been launched in 2020, with the goal of reaching young people during the difficult period of the pandemic. Therefore, the programs are conducted in Filipino and English languages to reach as many people as possible. Materials can be reviewed on the "VocTok" Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/VocTokTambayan) or the "Salesian Vocation - FIN" Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/SDBvocation).
