India - Young men committed to follow Christ in the manner of Don Bosco: 23 first professions and 12 perpetual professions in India's Northeast
Shillong, India - May 2022 - After a year of intense preparation, study, prayer and reflection, twenty-three novices made their first commitment to the Salesian Congregation last May 24 at the "Don Bosco" Novitiate in Sunnyside, Shillong. The ceremony was presided over by Fr. Paul O. Lyngkot, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Shillong (INS), in the presence of Fr. Langne Joseph Teron, Vicar of the Guwahati Province, and Fr. Vettah Jose, Novice Master. The day of celebration was even more solemn because on the same occasion twelve clerics took their perpetual vows. Fr. Lyngkot finally presented them with the Salesian Cross as a sign of their final reception into the Congregation and the Salesian Family.
