Zambia - Tenth Provincial Chapter, an invitation to seek youths in new peripheries
Lusaka, Zambia - May 2022 - The tenth Provincial Chapter of the Zambia-Malawi-Zimbabwe-Namibia (ZMB) "Mary Help of Christians" Vice-Province was held from May 25 to 28. Opening the Chapter was Msgr. Alick Banda, Archbishop of Lusaka, who urged those present to always look for young people in the new peripheries and recalled the importance of Salesians for today's youth. Then, in his inaugural address, Fr. Krzysztof Rychcik, ZMB Provincial, spoke with great hope about the future of the Vice-Province. He argued this based on statistics, which show a steady increase in vocations over the past three years, during which time it has grown from 84 confreres to 116. In the following days, then, a special effort was devoted to group work, the themes of the chapter working document, and the revision of other provincial documents.
