India - Youth Ministry Course for SDB and FMA novices
Nashik, India - December 2021 - On 13 and 14 December, a Youth Ministry course was held for 7 Salesian novices and 6 novices of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of their respective Mumbai Provinces in the Salesian novitiate in Nashik. Fr Leon Cruz and Sr Jaya Pedthala led the course, which was divided into various sessions. On the first day, under the motto "The Creative Plowman", Fr Cruz spoke about the needs and methods for creative pastoral care in the field of mission and presented the groups of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) active in the Province (INB). Then the participants, divided into groups, were entrusted with the development of a Youth Ministry project with the planning of major events and youth programs. Sr Pedthala instead held a session on the Auxilium Youth Movement (AYM). The day ended with an evening of interaction with a number of young people from the SYM. On the second day, Fr Cruz held a session on the “Shepherd's Dream”, followed by the presentation of the novices of the Youth Ministry Project drawn up the previous day. The course ended with a nature trail hike.
