Mexico - "Carlos Gómez" Salesian Institute students prepare food and messages of hope for migrants
San Luis Potosí, Mexico - September 2021 - "Feeding the body and the spirit": this is the goal of "Hope & Food", an initiative that was established as part of the social action project of the students of the Carlos Gómez Salesian high schools (ICG). The youth group’s main activity is to prepare food accompanied by messages of hope that are delivered to the "Migrant’s Home" in San Luis Potosí. The project is promoted by the ICG Youth Ministry team. With the arrival of the caravan of migrants from Haiti, food was also distributed in the temporary camp set up for the emergency. Due to the pandemic, the youngsters dedicated themselves only to the preparation and packaging of food, while the adults in charge of the group were given the task of shipping the food to its destination.
