Bolivia - Challenges of pandemic for Salesian Youth Ministry
Cochabamba, Bolivia - November 2020 - The Provincial Youth Ministry team and the staff of the Salesian Headquarters of the Salesian Province of Bolivia (BOL) gathered in Cochabamba on November 19 to identify the progress and challenges posed by the pandemic and how to deal with the next steps to be taken with common strategies of work and collaboration in the various ministries. Each participant carried out an analysis on how they dealt with the quarantine period on a personal and professional level. From this sharing space, the need emerged to create a national emergency plan that serves as a reference for all the works and also at the pedagogical level, especially in the administration of educational centers. Some intervention strategies were defined in response to the need for national planning that best answer to the challenges. Fostering province-wide solidarity and strategic lines of communication were also brought to the fore, together with the co-responsible work between Salesians and laity in favor of young people in the various Salesian presences.
